In Solidarity to Support Earthquake Provinces in Turkey
2/28/23, 9:00 PM
At our NGO, we believe that every person deserves access to basic necessities and dignity, even in times of crisis. That's why, when an earthquake struck in Turkey, leaving many people without proper clothing or undergarments, we knew we had to take action.
Thanks to the incredible solidarity and generosity of people around us, we were able to secure fabric donations and mobilize our textile program participants and KEP Textile Atelier to produce 5000 pairs of underwear for those in need. It was a massive effort that required teamwork, dedication, and a shared commitment to supporting the most vulnerable among us.
Our women participants and KEP Textile Atelier team worked tirelessly to produce high-quality, comfortable, and durable underwear that would provide a sense of comfort and normalcy to those affected by the earthquake. We distributed the underwear to people through community centers, and directly to families in need, ensuring that everyone had access to this essential item.
We are incredibly grateful for the support we received in our efforts to produce underwear for earthquake-affected communities. It is a testament to the power of solidarity and the resilience of the human spirit. We will continue to work towards empowering and uplifting those in need, and we invite you to join us in this important mission.
